The Cebu City Government and Johndorf Ventures Corporation have started to explore mutually beneficial ways to support the city's development initiatives and flagship programs.
This developed as Mayor Nestor D. Archival received Johndorf representatives in his office recently, and discussed on improving coordination between the public and private sectors.Johndorf executives sought the mayor's concurrence of a draft deed of donation of roads and open spaces at its Mimosa subdivision in Labangon as the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development required.
Jeanille Apurado, project development assistant manager, presented the documents that the mayor, she said, referred to Councilor Philip S. Zafra for presentation to the City Council for authorization.
With marketing manager Zaldie Velano, Mayor Archival identified areas where Johndorf can meaningfully complement the city's ongoing and future projects.
"Daghang salamat sa inyong suporta ug sa inyong kaandam nga makig-tambayayong sa siyudad," Archival said, expressing appreciation for Johndorf's readiness to work with the city.
He added that the local government values the company's interest in supporting Cebu City programs, including the possible extension of assistance to major cultural events.
"Padayon ta sa pagtinabangay aron mas daghan pa ang matabangan ug mas mapalig-on ang atong mga komunidad ug ang atong siyudad," Archival said.
For Johndorf Ventures, the meeting reaffirmed its commitment to responsible corporate partnership. Velano said the company sees Cebu City not just as a host community but as a long-term partner.
"We believe that sustainable growth happens when business and local government move in the same direction. Johndorf is keen to align its resources and expertise with the city's priorities for inclusive development," he said.
Apurado's associate Mariz Garcia and Velano's regional marketing officer Ken Adonis Toreno joined them in visiting the city's chief executive.
City officials noted that the engagement reflects a symbiotic relationship, where private sector support helps advance public programs while fostering a stable and progressive business environment.
Both parties agreed to sustain open communication as they translate the discussions into concrete collaborative initiatives in the months ahead, including the Sinulog festival.
